Rob Smith is now one of less than three dozen Texas
Certified Investigators recognized from over 4,000 investigators licensed
by the State of Texas Department of Public Safety – Private Security
Bureau. He was formerly the senior criminal investigator for the
Richardson, Texas Police Department, where his duties included personal
protection of a well-known individual for several months at the direction
of the Secret Service Agency of the U.S. Treasury Department during the
era following the Kennedy assassination. He completed extensive
administrative and operational training schools and seminars provided by
the Southwest Law Enforcement Institute at Southern Methodist University,
Texas A & M, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Smith is now a Texas Department of Public Safety - PSB
approved continuing education instructor and school director-operator with
previous experience in both police academy instruction and teaching at the
community college level. He is co-owner with his wife Macklyn, and
managing agent for Executive Services Investigation Agency located in the
Richardson-Plano-North Dallas "Telecom Corridor" with additional offices
and a major data resource retrieval center near the cities of Eustace and
Log Cabin in the East Texas / Cedar Creek area.
His agency is very "corporate" oriented and employs fifteen
agents that specialize in many areas of investigation. Most of the
Executive Services agents are trained and state-registered personal
protection specialists and can provide coverage for one-on-one bodyguard
services or a complete motorcycle escorted motorcade for executives and
dignitaries. Although not required to be licensed investigators, all ESIA
agents have also been trained extensively for the ITAS designation and
specialize in working with major organizations conducting conventions and
tradeshows throughout the country. The commissioned PSB officers under his direction as
Agent-in-Charge, have successfully provided Executive Protection for a
major energy corporation's national administration headquarters for a
period spanning several months during the past 3 years. The scope of his

As an active member of the Texas Association of Licensed
Investigators and winner of the 2001 TALI President's Award, Rob was
appointed Chairman of the Texas Certified Investigator Committee in 2001.
He has also served as co-chairman of both the State Media Information
Committee and as Chairman of the Vendor Trade Show Committee. He actively
exhibits the Texas Certified Investigator vendor booth at all TALI
functions as well as other related investigator-oriented conventions and
seminars. His responsibility as State Certification Chairman is direct
oversight of the Distance Learning Continuing Education program recognized
by the TX DPS-PSB Licensing Agency.
Smith has many years of success in marketing experience
while serving as Chairman of the Board in Hawaii for the Silver Seal
Corp., Royal Rainbow Rent-a-Car Corp., and Travel Services International,
Inc. He was President of Air Hawaii and was instrumental in acquiring six
other inter-island air-passenger carriers before his company was merged
with a larger intra-state airline. He has been an officer and/or director
of seven corporations over the past 32 years. Besides his wife Macklyn, a
managing division director in their agency, and his family, his passion
has always been in the law enforcement and investigative fields.

Macklyn Smith, TCI, is not only a
proficient investigator, but holds the prestigious internationally and
nationally recognized designation of "TCI" in the Texas
certification program. She is active in the leadership and training
programs of this agency and oversees all educational CE programs
including the extensive and intense training for ITAS (International
Tradeshow Access Screeners). She supervises and coordinates database search operations to
insure proficiency and compliance with both state and federal
regulations regarding privacy and legal access of information researched
by the agency on behalf of clients. All "Sub Rosa"
(undercover) assignments are under her direct supervision and is
frequently a covert operative herself. She is a highly-trained and
state-registered Level IV Personal Protection Officer with frequent
personal requests for bodyguard assignments.
Macklyn is a French linguist and has
served several years as a tutor in the local college community. As
director of training of the state-approved agency continuing education
investigators' school, she is instrumental in preparing the agents for
their undercover assignments in order to accommodate the many high-tech
clients in the rapidly developing "Telecom Corridor" of North
Dallas, Richardson and Plano.
As the agency handwriting specialist
and criminal profiler with many hours of study and experience, Special
Agent Smith enjoys a background of previous employment by the legal
department of a major Dallas Fortune 500 firm. She has previously been
responsible for internal investigations for a chain of Honolulu food and
beverage locations, as well as overall security operations with an
intra-state FAA Part 135 commuter airline serving the Hawaiian island
chain.
As a member of the Texas Association
of Licensed Investigators, Macklyn presently serves as 2nd Vice
President. She has previously served as Chairman of both
the TALI-TCI State Media and Public Relations Committee and the
Tradeshow Vendor Committee. Prior to becoming TALI 2nd Vice-President, she
was a member of the TALI Financial Review
Committee that reports to the Association's President regarding
oversight of the state organization's financial activities and position.
